Executive Order 13148: Are You Ready?
The
deadline for implementing environmental management systems (EMSs) under
Executive Order (EO) 13148 is December 31, 2005, and the most recent
Army EMS Implementation Metric deadline was March 30, 2004. The Environment

Environmental
Management System (EMS) Quick Reaction Engineering Services Contract
The
Environmental Technology Division (formerly the Industrial Ecology Center)
at the Armaments Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC),
located at Picatinny, NJ, has awarded a Quick Reaction Engineering Services
Contract/Environmental Management System—ISO 14001 Implementation
support contractual vehicle to Environment International, Seattle, WA.
In addition to EMS/ISO 14001 support, other quick reaction engineering
services under this contract include the following core areas: Environmental
Management and Monitoring Systems, Environmental Compliance Systems,
Greening Munitions development, Chemical Homeland Security needs and
solutions identification, Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) detection and identification,
intelligent system development and demonstration, and corrosion prevention
and detection demonstration technologies.
The contract is available for the Army and DOD to utilize for the purpose
of EMS implementation at its installations (including tenants PMs, PEOs,
acquisition community and Garrison-type organizations) and to provide
other environmental engineering services included in the contract.

The
