899-1 - Environmental Planning Services and Documentation

EI’s strength lies in the multidisciplinary nature of our approach to environmental issues. EI’s team approach ensures that all facets of issues - legal, scientific, engineering, economic and community perception - are analyzed and taken into account. This approach allows EI to deliver the highest quality planning and documentation services that are fully compliant with environmental regulations and standards. EI’s service areas include human health and ecological risk assessments, injury assessments and natural resource damage assessments (NRDAs), environmental management systems (EMSs) based on ISO 14001 and other standards, environmental restoration plans, policy and regulatory analyses, public comment documentation and responses to public comments, NEPA-compliant environmental impact statements (EISs) and assessments, endangered species plans, integrated resource management plans and environmental justice documentation. In addition, EI provides expert services in spill prevention, control and countermeasures (SPCC) and emergency planning and risk communication.

899-2 - Environmental Compliance Services

EI is one of the nation's leaders in environmental compliance auditing, compliance management planning, environmental management systems (EMSs) and pollution prevention. We help our clients identify ways to comply with regulations, minimize environmental impacts and save money. With two RAB-certified ISO 14001 Lead Auditors, our compliance team has conducted hundreds of days of audits for a variety of clients. We have provided numerous environmental compliance audits and compliance training to government agencies, private companies and tribes in the United States and abroad. We have expertise in determining applicable laws, statutes and regulations; conducting audits; evaluating the findings of these audits; preparing necessary documentation and reports; and translating this information into useful materials so an agency can meet its regulatory demands cost-effectively. We also help develop EMSs from the initial planning stages through implementation and evaluation.

EI has received wide acclaim for providing effective and powerful training, seminars, public education and outreach services regarding a wide variety of topics. We excel at providing customized training tailored to the needs of our audience. Our experience has ranged from educating small communities on regulatory requirements to providing training to federal agency employees around the country on RCRA and CERCLA cleanup processes, environmental compliance, EMSs and auditing. Through trainings and workshops, we have educated state and local agency personnel on integration of ESA requirements with state regulations.

Our risk assessment experts have worked on some of the highest profile hazardous waste sites and oil spills in the country and have served as expert witnesses. We assist in both the scientific and planning aspects of brownfields redevelopment and in reducing costs related to hazardous waste liabilities. In addition, EI is one of the leaders in providing advice and support in regards to natural resource damage assessments (NRDAs), including injury assessments, damage valuations and restoration planning. EI experts authored the only deskbook available addressing NRDA.

EI understands the importance of having up-to-date and accurate information at facilities handling hazardous materials, poisons, and other substances that may pose a safety risk. EI’s health and safety experts can assist organizations prepare for and respond to hazardous material spills, have current material safety data sheets (MSDSs), and update environmental policies and procedures. Moreover, EI can help organizations comply with environmental regulations for handling, storing, disposing of, and transporting hazardous materials and other substances that may pose a health and safety risk.
