Job Announcement: Analyst/Project Assistant

We are seeking an individual with outstanding qualifications who is interested in providing analytic support to clients as well as administrative office support. Job responsibilities include:

1. Provide administrative support including answering the phone and managing emails
2. Assist in the preparation of proposals for environmental consulting work
3. Assist with marketing efforts through research, telephone calls, and meetings
4. Work with data to create charts, figures and tables; analyze environmental science and policy
5. Provide technical support for company’s consulting projects in the United States
6. Communicate scientific concepts associated with the development of environmental regulations and policies

The Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant must:

Job Announcement: Mid-level Civil Engineer

Environment International Ltd., Portland, OR or Seattle, WA, USA

Environment International's Portland, OR and Seattle offices are seeking a mid-level civil engineer, Bachelors-level, PE preferred or on PE track, with 3 - 5+ years of experience to provide support to clients in the areas of civil engineering, environmental remedial actions, waste water, civil design, construction management, construction oversight, and related areas of expertise. Job responsibilities may include: 

1. Develop and/or review technical documents related to biological surveys and impacts, etc.
2. Review site chemistry data, monitoring reports, etc.
3. Provide comments on work plans, risk assessments, remedial action plans, monitoring plans, etc. on behalf of clients.
4. Prepare monitoring plans and conduct and/or provide oversight for conducting surveys and studies related to CERCLA/RCRA ecological risk assessment.
5. Perform data quality analysis and modeling.
6. Provide oversight of field surveys and studies.
7. Communicate scientific concepts to clients, the public and stakeholders.
8. Assist in the preparation of proposals.
9. Prepare environmental science and policy reports.
10. Develop creative solutions to environmental problems.

The Required Qualifications

1. A minimum of a Masters degree in biology or physical sciences.
2. 5 years of experience conducting studies, risk assessments, remedial investigations, remedial actions, etc.
3. Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
4. Project management experience.
5. Experience with field surveys and fish toxicology.
6. Experience with contaminated sites.
7. A strong attention to detail.
8. An ability to work in teams.
9. Enjoy interdisciplinary approaches to environmental issues.
10. Flexibility, ability to multi-task and willingness to work hard and pitch in with diverse tasks.
11. Strong writing and analytical skills.

Additional Qualifications

1. Experience with Geographic Information System (GIS) rudiments is a plus.
2. NEPA experience a plus.
3. Experience with environmental compliance audits and permitting is a plus.
4. 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.

Environment International’s Portland office is seeking a mid-level environmental engineer/chemist with at least 10 years of experience to provide support to clients in the areas of remedial investigation and design, human health risk assessment, and related areas of expertise. Job responsibilities may include:

1. Develop and/or review technical documents related to remedial investigations, removal actions, etc.
2. Review site chemistry data, monitoring reports, etc.
3. Provide comments on workplans, sampling analysis plans, quality assurance project plans, risk assessments, remedial action workplans, monitoring plans, etc. on behalf of clients.
4. Prepare monitoring plans and conducting and/or providing oversight for groundwater, surface water, and sediment monitoring.
5. Provide oversight of remedial actions.

We are seeking a work-study student with a science or policy background who has interest in the environmental field and can provide technical and administrative support with our projects. Job responsibilities may include:
