Neighborhood Contamination

Georgetown Community Council

As the technical representative of the GCC, EI attends meetings with representatives of the Washington State Department of Ecology, US EPA and Philip Services Corporation regarding the clean-up of contamination from a major hazardous waste collection and storage facility that led to the pollution of an aquifer in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle. EI also gives presentations at community meetings, reviews and comments on technical documents, and helps ensure that clean-up measures are protective of the community.
