Mediation of Dispute Involving Underground Injection Wells

Mediated a dispute under the Safe Drinking Water Act related to the disposal of waste water in underground injection wells in Florida. Project involved Miami-Dade County and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and required an understanding of US Environmental Protection Act’s Injection Well Program and the requirements associated with consumptive use permits and water reuse requirements. The settlement reached forged a path to resolution of alleged non-compliance issues and an integrated water management plan in a region short of water.
